INTRODUCTION
Are you ready to see the demolition of many myths and theories of management experts, the so-called "gurus", that have been proposed to us in the recent years?
Theories that become real trends fascinate and lead many managers and entrepreneurs to follow them, without asking whether they really make sense.
Then you discover that those who did not apply those theories and strategies, the small businessmen who studied only up to the eighth grade and do not know what a master or a brainstorming session is, collect success around the world. How? By using models that are the opposite of those proposed by the alleged gurus.
Instead, this book will start from the analysis of reality, of successful cases, to propose solutions that have already demonstrated their effectiveness.
The approach used in writing the book is intentionally provocative, extreme, and sometimes excessive.
Get ready to see the vivisection of true icons, like masters and open-plan offices, the figure of the manager, brainstorming and hyper-work, training and quality certification. All elements which, in theory, any company could not ignore, but that often bring more harm than good.
You will witness a recovery of common sense and ‘simple thinking’; elements that always demonstrate their effectiveness At any time, in any place, and in any market situation.

Those who work until 10 pm are idiots and the best leaders are bastards eBook Nick Allen
The book has a good point or two, but the author tries too hard to be funny and/or ridiculous. Not sure why he is so hostile. While he is right that traditional avenues do not work all the time, the overarching theme of the book is, "I am right, and if you disagree, you're dumb."Every chapter contains a kernel of a good idea, radiated with so much overt hostility and absolutism as to be almost useless as a business tool.
If you want a quick giggle and eye roll, this book is perfect for the porcelain reading room, but don't use it as a guide for success--- unless your goal is unemployment or a closed business. Then the book is perfect for you.
If you are looking for true business leadership or effective success books, save your time and your 99-cents. Save your pennies and get a book worth more than a Big Mac.

Those who work until 10 pm are idiots and the best leaders are bastards eBook Nick Allen Reviews
If you have a few dollars in your wallet, I highly recommend you invest them in this handy, funny and irreverent booklet, to say the least.
This book demystifies a large number of assumptions, beliefs, stereotypes and clichés that reign uncontested in companies of any size.
Just to name a few the quality certification is useless (and here I agree!), Master's are time and wasted money, the best leader is a bastard (!), the more complicated sales techniques are hot air, the open-plan is only a mess (and I already said this a long time ago!) and more and more.
In short, there is something for everyone, even for "everything", and in 12 chapters of a dozen pages each, the author manages to disassemble every conviction and demonstrates how many people
unnecessarily rely on self-styled "gurus" (which, in turn, cash rich parcels).
I read this book nearly all in one shot. There are too many brilliant gems that make you never want to stop reading. However it will be useful every now and then to re-read it in no particular order (reading each chapter doesn't take more than 10 minutes).
My favorite chapters were the 10th and 11th. The first one explains how companies that aim to make quick profits are actually digging their ditch alone, while the second that the open-plan only serves to create disorder. And how could I also not mention Chapter 3, where he demystifies the Master's, which is only a source of lost money for those who attend it (and pocketed instead for those who administer it). Among them shouldn't we also put the Microsoft certifications? Yes, why not?
Or Chapter 2-"a career is just an illusion"-where it is stated that to scrub ... ehm motivate an employee just give him a long and high-flying qualification (I still remember a guy who I met a couple of years ago for a collaborative computing. In his business card there was written "Chief Executive Officer"- wow, a CEO! -only to realize that his company was just him ...).
Great and fun reading, it also makes you think.
I loved it! it says nothing more than common sens, but it puts it in a funny way that makes you think. After that you will never work longer than due!
Really hits home. Managers and CEO s should read this book. No fluff straightforward approach to improving efficiencies in the workplace and home.
And awesome. Great stuff, wish he would have cited the studies that he kept claiming, though. Very good content, though.
One day, hopefully, common sense like this will prevail.
good enough
